MDLand has achieved the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC-Health IT) 2015 Edition Cures Update Health IT certification, which goes into effect in 2023. This includes the latest interoperability standards needed to support compliance with the 21st Century Cures Act information-sharing requirements.
Most importantly for practices and providers, the Cures Act introduces new interoperability and data sharing requirements. These new rules are intended to ensure that physicians use technology to offer and exchange electronic health information with patients efficiently and securely as well as offer patients their health data in situations where that data is available to use, exchange, and access.
For MDLand’s customers, this ensures peace of mind that the iClinic® suite of products meets their needs and reflects MDLand’s commitment to deliver solutions that exceed industry standards. MDLand's all-in-one database EHR solution includes practice management, population management, inventory management, patient portal, patient engagement, and an expert billing (RCM) service option for its clients.
We are thrilled to welcome Kunal Kain to MDLand’s Board of Directors! Kunal, who is the Founder and Managing Partner at Kain Capital, brings a wealth of healthcare investment experience and is known for driving innovation across portfolio companies.
MDLand is proud to announce their achievement of earning a (g)(10) FHIR certification. The (g)(10) FHIR API is considered the most rigorous 21st Century Cures Act certification to date. This new certification requires the use of Health Level 7 (HL7®) FHIR standards with several implementation specifications aimed toward patient and population health services. In December 2022, MDLand was awarded this certification to continuously innovate the iClinic® EHR platform.
The benefit to MDLand’s customers is that they will be able to easily transmit electronic health information (EHI) via the certified API without excessive restrictions, supporting advancement toward interoperability.
“It was a pleasure working with the MDLand team and seeing them progressively tackle the (g)(10) requirements to achieve a FHIR API solution fully ready for Certification testing. We’re pleased to see their successful (g)(10) Certification result and look forward to their customers’ opportunity to use this important new capability for access to patient data,” said Bob Bryan, Senior Director, Advisory Services of the Drummond Group.
Of this achievement, CEO and co-founder of MDLand James Long said, “the adoption of the standardized FHIR technology and using the certified EHR to support the 21st Century Cures Act is so important to our providers, which allows them to easily exchange patient information among network providers and in turn, provide better quality of care. At MDLand, we are committed to helping our providers remain compliant and enable them to be successful in the value-based care era, without taking on the burden themselves. They now can focus on what they do best – taking care of their patients and making patient healthy and happy.”
