MDLAND INCORPORATES NEW MEDICARE ERA
AND EFT FUNCTIONS
MDLAND
has also been working with Empire Medicare, GHI Medicare and other
Medicare contractors to incorporate new functionalities to save providers
time
and money,
such as electronic remittance advice (ERA) and electronic fund transfer
(EFT), which automatically deposits your Medicare claim payments
directly into your bank account. For providers who currently subscribe
to ERA,
they can input the check number or EFT number under the account module
and all claims associated with the same check number will be shown
under MDLAND’s account module. Providers can simply use the Update
Check feature to update all bundled claims to PAID status under the
same check
number. Furthermore, for denied payment claims, the rejection code
and reason will be displayed in the claim detail log. For providers
who are
still using paper remittance/EOB, they can apply the existing procedure
to apply the payment to each individual claim, and follow up with
the secondary insurance or patient responsibility. (06-01-2006)
